Grant to the Hospice for Neuro-disability for the purchase of equipment. The Hospice is a benevolent non-profit society founded in 1893 to care for financially strained patients with chronic diseases — paraplegic or tetraplegic patients, stroke or multiple sclerosis victims or sufferers from other conditions of the central nervous system— most of whom have mobility issues, etc.
All this time the Hospice has provided crucial help to thousands of patients from all over Greece, with full medical and pharmaceutical care by specialised medical and nursing staff, to the relief of the patients themselves and their families.
Patients remain in the Foundation for life and are given 24-hour care by the staff of doctors, physiotherapists, work therapists, nurses, etc.). It operates without any kind of government funding, which makes voluntary support and contributions absolutely vital if it is to continue to run smoothly and fulfil its aims.
