The P. & A. Canellopoulos Foundation, faithful to its founding objectives of promoting and disseminating Greek culture, has for more than a decade supported the excavations at Despotiko in the Cyclades, which have been carried out since 2001 by the Ministry of Culture/Ephorate of Antiquities in Cyclades.
This year, research, led by the archaeologist Yannos Kouragios, has continued on Tsimindiri, the islet that in antiquity was connected to Despotiko and the site of Apollo sanctuary, while restoration works are being carried out in building D. This year’s support, concerned support works for the project, mainly the conservation of finds and the implementation of the architectural study for building D.
