A donation contract for the preparation of the entire studies for the conversion of the building of the Old Oil Mill of Elefsina into a Timeless Museum of the city, was signed by the President of the Foundation Nellos Canellopoulos and the Treasurer Alexandra Papalexopoulou – Benopoulou.
The building of the Old Oil Mill in Elefsina is a place that encompasses the industrial and cultural history of the city. In 1875 the first factory in Elefsina, the Harilaou Soap Factory, was founded. The industrial complex operated until 1960. Since 1995, it has hosted the city’s unique cultural festival, Aeschylia, while in 2023 it hosted many events in the framework of the Eleusis – European Capital of Culture 2023.
