Supporting the natural regeneration and restoration of Parnitha

TITAN and the Paul and Alexandra Canellopoulos Foundation are contributing to the protection and restoration of burned areas

18.05.2026

TITAN and the Paul and Alexandra Canellopoulos Foundation are contributing to the protection and restoration of the burned areas in the Kryoneri–Drosopigi area, which were affected by the major wildfire in the summer of 2025. As part of the Restoration Sponsor initiative, we have undertaken the restoration of 1,000 stremmas of forest land, through a €1 million donation to implement anti-erosion and flood protection works that will enable the area’s natural regeneration and restoration.

In April, the Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou, visited the area to inspect the completed works and attend their formal handover, in the presence of Nellos Canellopoulos, Chairman of the Paul and Alexandra Canellopoulos Foundation and Chairman of TITAN Cement Company S.A., as well as Ioannis Paniaras, TITAN Group Executive Director, Europe.

Also attending the event were Stathis Stathopoulos, Secretary General of Forests, and Vangelis Gkountoufas, Director General of Forests, accompanied by representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Forest Service, and the relevant municipalities.

This initiative continues a broader series of prevention and restoration actions jointly undertaken by TITAN and the Paul and Alexandra Canellopoulos Foundation in support of the national effort to restore wildfire-affected areas. Following the 2021 wildfires, we made significant donations of vehicles and equipment to five regions across the country. After the 2023 wildfires, we assumed the role of Restoration Sponsor in Western Attica (Western Parnitha), actively contributing to strengthening the resilience of affected areas.
