The Paul & Alexandra Canellopoulos Foundation has approved a grant of 550,000 euros to the Ephorate of Cyclades Antiquities for the execution of the partial restoration of the Philip Stoa in Delos.
Delos is one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece and the implementation of a programme of restoration works could change the landscape of Delos, saving its precious heritage from the ravages of time and making the island a top destination worldwide.
The major restoration project of the Philip Stoa is moving to the next phase with the installation of the scaffolding. The crane bridge on metal scaffolding, which runs the entire length of the building under restoration, is the key ‘tool’ for the safe and rapid execution of the ongoing restoration work.”
